When I first went to Iceland on a solo trip I ( like everyone else) was blown away.. I mean I grew up around mountains so was used to them but the scenery there is out of this world, it was nothing I could prepare myself for.. glaciers, volcanos, geysers, waterfalls… EVERYWHERE.
Around every corner was a different view. Larger than life. completely different from the last
I visited Vik.. the town of little white and black churches and black sand beaches and while I was there I saw a photographer shooting a couple who just gotten married and I was watching them from afar and I said to myself ” I am going to shoot bridals here one day” and I carried on.
A little over a year later I got an email from an upcoming bride.. would I ever consider coming to Alaska with her and her fiance right after their wedding to do photos for them… ummm, HECK YEAH I WOULD!!! We chatted and planned and I dreamed.
And I then got an email from them saying that it would take some serious planning and a lot more money than anticipated and wasnt going to work out, but.. WOULD I CONSIDER ICELAND!
Well, It worked out!
We spent 5 days traveling around the island in a camper van stopping way to many places making portraits that I had only dreamed about. Sometimes you just got to put it out there..
Heres some of the highlights from this incredible journey:
